The old saying, “It takes a village to raise a child,” is taken seriously by Thomas Bros. Their contributions to the Wagga Wagga community don’t stop at the car dealership door. For 70 plus years, they have been selling and servicing vehicles. They have also made sure to hire local staff who not only excel at selling new and used vehicles, but who are as dedicated as they are to the community.
For the third year in a row, Thomas Bros presents the Night of Knight Charity Ball. The gala event will raise money for children’s charities that work to help children with life threatening illnesses.
This year, Country Hope and Give me 5 for Kids invite you to share an evening full of entertainment and networking.
Country Hope Trust is a “country based, family centred organisation” who offers family centred support programs to country children who have been diagnosed with cancer or another chronic life threatening illness.
They provide positive programs to assist in reducing the stress of illness, offer support programs for siblings, emotional support in a group setting, and ongoing bereavement support to families who have lost a child. Their goal is to provide immediate support “without the red tape.”
Give Me 5 For Kids is a national fundraiser that supports and raises funds for local children’s hospital across Australia. They hold local fundraising events which have benefited over 40 children’s hospitals since the mid 90’s.
There is fun to be had
To keep you entertained, internationally renowned performer, Tom Burlinson will be at the event. His fame began with The Man From Snow River and he is also a stage actor and a singer. He regularly performs at charity events.
You will also be treated to the Australian Army Band – Kapooka. The band is made up of 22 musicians performing on brass, woodwind, and rhythm section instruments. They are not just a military marching band; they also play rock, jazz and are a stage band. The band regularly supports local charities and organisations by performing a series of Music at Midday concerts in Wagga Wagga. Local talent Harry Manglesdorf, who is a singer with an amazing voice, will be performing. You can check out his sound on Facebook before the gala if you like. Jamie Way and the popular DeJa Groove will also help keep things lively.
Don’t forget to be charitable
Remember to buy the raffle tickets for the charity auction. All the proceeds of the raffle and ticket sales go to local children who have been diagnosed with a life threatening condition and to the children’s ward of local hospitals. These are both very worthwhile organisations and your donation will make a difference in their lives or the lives of their families.
Your charity even ticket is $165.00 per person or $1650.00 for a table of ten. Your ticket includes champagne upon arrival, a seat at a table for a gourmet 3-piece meal, complimentary beverages, great company and of course, the entertainment.

Nothing is more magical than creating happiness for a child. Sick children especially need some TLC and a reason to smile when they wake up in the morning. Supporting the family is the best way to support the child, and by supporting the community, Thomas Bros is helping a village raise a child.
